Integrity & Performance update 2007

The ultrafiltration plant in Roetgen (144 MLD, 38 MGD) is equipped with 1728 Pentair X-Flow membrane elements and is running very successfully since November 2005. Average TMP is in range of about 0.15 bars. Only in February 2007 the first defect of one single fiber was detected. Based on a total of 19 million fibers this is less than 0.000005%.

The ultrafiltration plan in Heemskerk (65 MLD, 17 MGD) still has zero fiber breakage and was presented by PWN at AWWA March 2007 in Tampa, Florida:
“Results and conclusions: in September 2005 all the membranes in the full scale plant were replaced by the new generation XIGA SXL membranes. This lower Trans Membrane Pressure (TMP) resulted in no compromised fibers at all during the first 16 months.”
