Potable water

Challenge

Quality requirements for potable water are becoming increasingly stringent throughout the world. Not only the allowable levels for turbidity and microbiology are being lowered for potable water, but also new limits are being established for viruses and chlorine resistant organisms, such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia.

Conventional treatment systems are either unable to meet these quality standards for potable water or multiple barriers are required which require a large footprint and investment.

Solution
Pentair X-Flow’s hollow fibre UF membrane screen all turbidity, bacteria as well as viruses. The X-Flow UF membrane provide a simple solution that produces potable water that meets the highest standards for turbidity and microbiology.

Pentair X-Flow’s hollow fibre membranes for potable water is available in two configurations:
  • Xiga™ - Multiple membranes (up to 4) installed in horizontal membrane housings.
  • Aquaflex - Single membranes installed vertically and connected directly to feed and filtrate headers.

The Pentair X-Flow Xiga™ and Aquaflex membrane modules are being produced in an ISO 9000 certified factory and have potable water approvals for a large number of countries:

  • The Netherlands
  • United Kingdom
  • Germany
  • France
  • United States
  • Japan
